While I've designed hundreds of internal and external pages, these are some screenshots of some of the pages I'm most proud of. This are typically full-page snapshots because the designs in the active URLs have changed over the years with new designers.Â
I created this program in response to the 2016 Centennial for the National Park Service. This inclusive program incorporated technology and social media to engage tens of thousands of visitors and encouraged them to hike. Visitors were reengaged after their visit when posting on social media while exponentially adverstising the program. The program ran from 2015-2018 and included an interactive public art contest #HikeDeathValleyArt where visitors created decal and poster designs further engaging the public and fostering a creative link between visitors around the globe and the cultural and natural resources of Death Valley. I recreated this program at Capulin Volcano and Valles Caldera. CMS program PaperThin Commonspot.
I was the lead astronomy ranger at Valles Caldera. I helped to create a partnership called the Jemez Mountains Night Sky Consortium where we partnered with the City of Jemez Springs, Los Alamos County, the International Dark Sky Association, Pajarito Environmental Education Center, New Mexico State Parks, and Los Alamos Laboratory, the US Forest Service and local community volunteers. We ultimately received designation as an International Dark Sky Park.
By far the most popular hike in Death Valley. This maze of canyons and badlands is a trail-less wonderland of color, but also danger. It is the top search and rescue spot in the park. I was awarded a Safety Award for producing a geo-referenced map and hiking guide and also producing trail signs. CMS program PaperThin Commonspot.

This landing page branches off into several subpages that go into the details of a specific hike. This includes GPX and KML tracks as well as a geo-referenced PDF. I hiked each of these routes with the goal of recording a photo-journal with GPS data to be used later in social media, various mobile applications, and websites. This was a huge success due to Death Valley only having two official trails. All other routes are cross-country and intimidating and dangerous for some visitors. CMS program PaperThin Commonspot.
