Daniel Asiamah Ameyaw is an accomplished Higher Education Administrator and a Consultant in educational research, Monitoring and Evaluation with competencies in both qualitative and quantitative data management and analysis. He possesses a wide range of experience in Corporate Governance, Policy and Change process.
He is currently College Human Resource Officer of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana. He previously served as Head of Public Affairs and General Administration of the College and performed as a liaison between the College and the media and therefore provided media relations and publicity; organised official college events such as congregation, public and inter-faculty lectures, College Biennial Scientific Conference Lectures among others; provided assistance for local and overseas travels of College officials and guests such as external examiners by planning itineraries and flight tickets, airport transfers etc. and assisted staff to acquire/ renew travelling documents, acquisition/ renewal of alien’s registration and work permits; handled internal and external communications of the College and jointly managed the College website with the College ICT Unit.
As Senior Assistant Registrar responsible for general administration, he was in charge of operations and therefore boards obsolete office equipment / assets and engaged in procurement related issues such as tender evaluation.
Earlier, he worked at the University of Ghana Academic Quality Assurance Directorate, and managed administrative processes & procedures; formulated and implemented both short and long range objectives of internal academic quality assurance matters; monitored and evaluated teaching and learning; course outline; undertook exams moderation; lecture hall/ laboratory facility audit; and conducted surveys on students' educational experiences. He was also charged with the responsibility for initiating training in pedagogical skills for newly appointed academic staff in the University of Ghana.
Prior to his engagement by the University of Ghana, he had worked with University of Ghana Affiliate, the Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG), and performed as Administrator in the Registrar Class. As part of his roles, he served on a number of Boards and Committees including the University Council and the Senate. In addition, he taught Management and Administration courses including Principle of Management, and Management Information Systems (MIS) in the Department of Nursing and the Department of Physician Assistantship of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, whereof, he supervised project works of a number of undergraduate students.
His teaching interest are Educational Technology; Management Information Systems; Educational Planning, Management and Administration; Educational Research; Educational Foundations; and Leadership in Pedagogical Practice.
Daniel Ameyaw has a high knowledge level on/and experience in enhancing procedures for teaching, learning and assessment and served as a Peer Resource Person/Resource person for the Technology for the Transformative Pedagogy for PedaL Online course; the Inter-Partnership Impact Enhancement (IPIE) course; as well as the Partnership for Enhanced and Blended Learning (PEBL) course.
The PedaL project was one of nine partnerships awarded to the Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Innovation and Reform (SPHEIR) and supported by the UK Department for International Development (DFID).
The Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) has been working with Alliance for Research Universities in Africa (ARUA); Institute of Development Studies (IDS) of the University of Sussex, UK; and, five implementing Partner Universities: Egerton, Ibadan, Ghana, Dar es Salaam and Uganda Martyrs to implement the PedaL Project.
The PEBL partnership was led by the Association of Commonwealth Universities (UK), working with Commission for University Education (Kenya), Commonwealth of Learning (Canada), Kenyatta University (Kenya), Makerere University (Uganda), Open University of Tanzania, State University of Zanzibar (Tanzania), Staff and Educational Development Association (UK), Strathmore University (Kenya), University of Edinburgh (UK), and the University of Rwanda.
