MY JOURNEY
Following my participation as Trainer of Trainees in the Pedagogical Leadership in Africa (PedaL) Training Programmes, held in Nairobi, Kenya, the Partnership for African Social and Governance Research (PASGR) and its Partners assigned me as Resource Person; Peer Resource Person; and a Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Lead in Ghana.
The project was one of nine partnerships awarded to the Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Innovation and Reform (SPHEIR) to catalyse systemic change in teaching and learning in African Universities. SPHEIR was established by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and sought to transform quality, relevance, access and affordability of higher education to achieve sustainable, systemic change.
The PASGR collaborated with Alliance for Research Universities in Africa (ARUA); Institute of Development Studies (IDS) of the University of Sussex, UK; and, five implementing Partner Universities: Egerton, Ibadan, Ghana, Dar es Salaam and Uganda Martyrs to develop and roll out PedaL in graduate social science programmes.
MY PEDAL EXPERIENCE
PedaL constitutes a preparation that aims at building my capacity to solve learning problems in order for me contribute to producing high quality graduates with transformative skills for social and economic growth of my country.
I have reviewed my Teaching Philosophy and Pedagogical Goals to ensure that they are constructively aligned to meet the expected PedaL objectives. In this regard, I have supported the learning of colleagues in PedaL Pedagogy; Participated in the Community of Practice in the University of Ghana; and Participated in a change process by bringing together members of the Community for a common purpose towards the implementation of the PedaL Project.
