Hamid Reza Rahmani, known by his artistic alias Danial, is a photographer born in 1991 during a time of migration. Despite the educational challenges he faced as an immigrant, he remained committed to his passion for photography. In 2011, he began training at independent institutes to sharpen his technical skills and deepen his artistic vision.

During my years of photography in Afghanistan, I encountered the many faces of this land. On one side, the untouched and breathtaking beauty of nature captivated me; on the other, the heavy shadow of war, insecurity, and poverty loomed everywhere.

For me, who had set foot in this land with a burden of identity crisis and a sense of wandering, the only way to be resilient was to seek refuge in the embrace of Mother Nature and photography. Photography became a mask to hide the wounds of my soul, and at the same time a tool for curiosity and discovery of hidden truths. This journey, full of contradictions and profound lessons, made me more familiar with myself and my roots.

My art explores the tension between war and peace, shaped by personal struggles that reflect wider societal conflicts. Through photography, I stand against war-driven politics and aim to revive our lost connection with nature.by capturing moments of beauty and truth, I hope to inspire a sense of belonging.
One that leads to inner calm and a more Peaceful world.

The year 2015 marked a defining moment in Danial's journey, as he embarked on an inspiring adventure through the Different provinces of Afghanistan. His mission was to capture Afghanistan's awe-inspiring natural beauty, a vision that came to life in his debut solo exhibition, "Beautiful Afghanistan," proudly presented in collaboration with the Echo Cultural Institute in Tehran.
In 2016, Danial continued to push artistic boundaries with his second solo exhibition, "In Search of Peace," hosted at the Kabul House of Culture. This pivotal collection not only showcased his profound talent but also cemented his place as one of the most promising figures in contemporary photography.

Rahmani's unwavering dedication and remarkable talent have earned him widespread recognition, as reflected in the numerous prestigious awards he has received over the years. Among his accolades are the top prizes in the UNESCO Photography Competition (Mobile Section) in Kabul in 2016, the Third Eye Photojournalist Center Competition in Kabul in 2017, and the "35Award International Photography" Competition in Russia in 2018. These honors highlight Rahmani's mastery in the realms of landscape and street photography, where he excels in capturing the essence of human experiences amidst Afghanistan's rugged and ever-evolving landscapes.
