Problem: Yarny, a fiber arts company specializing in knitting and felting supplies, has its highest sales in weaving looms. However, sales associates often lack expertise in weaving and feel unqualified to effectively communicate the benefits of the looms to customers. This lack of confidence leads to associates avoiding discussions or demonstrations of the looms. Yarny aims to increase loom sales by 75% to significantly boost profits.
Solution: By educating employees on how to effectively sell looms, the company intends to not only increase the sales of their highest-ticket item but also to introduce knitting and felting enthusiasts to weaving, thereby driving additional yarn sales.
Process: I assessed the audience, content, and the business problem. With the problem analyzed and the right solution identified, I designed the course, which is documented in the Design Document. For Kirkpatrick's Level 2 evaluation, I included an interactive knowledge check and a final assessment with scenario-based questions. Kirkpatrick's Level 3 Evaluation involves a client survey and a management review of sales after 3 months. Lastly, I created a microlearning job aid for this course, a quick reference to highlight the key information from the e-Learning.
