This policy manual exists to create easy access for librarians and patrons to find materials and for all patrons and stakeholders to know and understand policies and procedures within the library. This type of information is critical in creating consistent labeling and therefore retrieval of materials.

Donated items become property of the school district. Items will then be assessed and may become cataloged or weeded accordingly. Monetary donations will be used to purchase materials requested by patrons.

Weeding out books is an essential part of maintaining a useful library. Books may be weeded due to

• Quality of book (falling apart)

• outdated nonfiction

• fiction titles that are not meeting needs of patrons and therefore not being checked out.
