CVHS American Red Cross (CVHS ARC) is a youth volunteer club that operates in the local community as well as the Bay Area as a whole. As one of the largest club in CVHS, we are proud to also have a vibrant and friendly community that betters the community and gain valuable leadership skill, as well as life long friends and experiences. We are the local chapter of the American Red Cross organization, an organization with over 140 years of providing humanitarian aid and preventing and alleviating human suffering. We further the mission of the Red Cross by mobilizing volunteers to provide community service, providing aid to disaster stricken areas or to initiatives to end life threatening disease, and giving the opportunity to be CPR certified completely free of charge. As one of the largest club in CVHS, we are proud to also have a vibrant and friendly community, and is perfect for those who want to be part of a community that betters the community.
Amnesty is a international organization dedicated to advocating to human rights violations around the world. The club writes letters , signs petitions, and educate ourselves and others on global news.
Animal Aid Club focuses on helping animals in any way we can within our community. We do this with many volunteer opportunities open to anyone to participate in! We also talk about Animal news in the world and facts about endangered animals.
CVHS CSF is a branch of the statewide nonprofit organization, The California Scholarship Federation. Our mission is to recognize and encourage academic achievement and community service within our school, and work under the motto of "Scholarship for Service." As one of the largest clubs on campus, CSF is proud to offer opportunities for members to serve our extended community, grow their leadership skills, and earn recognition for their academic achievements. CSF acts as CVHS's honor society and is the only club that offers scholarships and awards in exchange for volunteer hours and academic standing.
Castro Valley Key Club, is a community service club that, along with almost 5,000 Key Clubs across the world, emphasizes service, leadership, and connecting with other high school students. Key Club International is student-led, and is the biggest and oldest service program for high schoolers. We provide many opportunities for community service and offer leadership roles, awards, and scholarships. Our most exciting event is our Fall Rally North, where spirited high schoolers from all over California, Nevada, and Hawaii meet at Six Flags to do cheers and celebrate our fundraising efforts for our preferred charity, the Pediatric Trauma Program.

HOSA is an international organization with local chapters. The primary focus of HOSA is to support future health science professionals. CVHS HOSA is a student-led chapter that assists students in developing career readiness, skill building and helping them prepare for competitions across many healthcare-related topics, discussions, and symposiums. HOSA aims to educate and teach students to become leaders in their communities through service, education, and collaboration.

She’s the First at Castro Valley High School is a student-led chapter of the global nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls and fighting gender inequality through education. Smart Environment is the longest-standing environment club on campus, with a long history of environmental stewardship on campus. We promote sustainability on campus through our school garden, litter cleanups, and educating students on environmental topics during our weekly lunch meetings. Our vision is to to dive deeper into the environment and continue improving CVHS and our community. Our club hosts fundraisers and events and advocates for changes that promote sustainability on campus. Throughout the years, we have hosted the succulent and garden gram fundraisers, the sustainability fair, events in the quad during lunch, and have been able to enjoy the fruits of our garden harvests.
We work together to educate our peers and our community about the dangers of addictive substances. We give presentations to Freshmen in their health classes, host activities at lunch, have a booth at the career fair, and go on field trips to further our knowledge about tobacco and nicotine use and the dangers that come with it.
UNICEF is a global organization that seeks to help children and other groups in need around the world by providing emergency aid, education, and clean food and water. As a UNICEF chapter, our club aims to provide a fun community for members to get to know new people, get involved with their community and learn about current world issues. Additionally, our club aims to raise money throughout the year in order to donate to UNICEF USA at the end of every school year.
