Come meet Mr. Andy Morales, learn about the Cumberland Band Program, see current students demonstrate their instruments, and give your student a chance to explore the different instruments.

Returning Band Students

Returning students do not need to attend the Band Open House. You will receive a separate email with instructions for band registration and instrument rental. Please follow the instructions in that email to complete your registration.

Meet the band chairs and learn about our scholarship program and how to apply for assistance with band tuition and/or instrument rental.

Registration Information
Learn how to register for Cumberland Band. Online registration opens Sep 10th at 8:00 PM.

Instrument Rental Information
Learn about renting a school-owned instrument for the school year. Online instrument rental opens Friday Sep 12th at 8:00 PM.

Instrument Introduction & Student Demonstrations
Learn about the different band instruments while current band students demonstrate each instrument.

Instrument Tryout
Students will have an opportunity to try the available instruments and explore which instrument may be the right fit for them.

🥁 Percussion Auditions
Only students interested in percussion will participate in an audition to demonstrate their ability to keep a steady rhythm.

First-year percussion students typically begin with the bell kit (glockenspiel). In their second year, students expand their skills to include snare drum and other percussion instruments. Students with previous percussion experience may be able to play drums during their first year.

Students interested in percussion should practice using the [Percussion Practice Exercises] before the Open House.

Questions & Wrap-Up
Families can ask questions and speak with the Band Director and band chairs.

The Cumberland PTA offers scholarships to help cover band tuition and/or rental of a school-owned instrument.
