Student Leader Program
Please note that the Student Leader Class will be in person and not offered on Blackboard. This class is a semester long course
For Students interested in joining our Student Leader Class, we ask that you get with your unit manager.
Pay Information:
As long as a student maintains their status of Student Leader or Coordinator, they will always be paid their Student Leader or Coordinator rate of pay. If a student works a position within Culinary Services that is not a Student Leader or Coordinator position (example: Nelson DH checker during the summer), that student will be paid at the pay level associated with that position
Student Leaders will begin their training in Level 4 as a Training Student Leader. The overall training process typically takes one semester to complete. Student Leaders need to pass the student leader class and perform satisfactorily on the job in order to be promoted to a Level 5.
Nationally recognized Student Leader program provides students with a unique professional development experience. Students will be provided with the opportunity to work closely with full-time staff, open and close venues, order and maintain inventory, hire and schedule students, and much more.
