Past Events & Pack History

Flag Streamers: Pack 991 has served the youth and our local Springfield, Virginia communities since 1963 and has decades of history.  Over the years, the Pack has earned multiple accolades at the National, Council, District, and Camp-level such as Journey to Excellence (formerly Quality Unit) Awards, Camp Adventure Awards, Webelos Diamond "W" Awards, Awards of Merit and Honor, et. al.  Click the flag to see a full list of the Pack's streamers.  

Campfire Ashes: The culminating event at every Scout Campout is the Campfire Program. Scouts sing songs, act out skits, tell stories and jokes, and have fun! Scouts are also able to demonstrate their skills and creativity by cooking delicious desserts in cast iron Dutch ovens, roasting marshmallows and making s'mores, and often participate in a patriotic and respectful flag retirement ceremony. 

Pack 991 maintains a time-honored Scouting tradition of collecting and carrying these ashes forward to the next milestone event, such as Fall and Spring campouts and advancement ceremonies. Click on the campfire to see a full list of where the Pack's ashes have been.
