These Community-Organized events are for the Pack's broader awareness. Pack 991 Leadership does not organize these activities. Pack members do regularly join them.
These often include:
Charity Events to help our broader community
Family Camping at both Camp Snyder and Goshen Scout Reservation (premier Scout Camps)
Hike-o-Ree events, & Adventure Days, and Cub-o-Ree events (Cub Scout Camp Activities held over one day)
Bicycle Rodeos, 5K and 10K Races, and other Scout activities
Holiday and other special events (i.e., Halloween Spook-tacular and Scout Sunday)
The National Capital Area Council, Burke Lake District, and many other Scout-friendly community organizations regularly provide activities and special events for Scouts. While these are not Pack 991-coordinated events, Scouts and families may choose to do these individually, with friends, or as a Den. Information will be provided on the Pack website as it becomes available.

Past Event Cub Scout Adventure Day Camp @Camp Snyder (Sept 9th, 2023) ( - Will update for the next one)
This past June some of our Scouts participated in our District’s day camp held at Occoquan Park. While it was unseasonably warm, we had a great time climbing, shooting slingshots, archery, building things, and doing scout crafts.
This event is a one-day event of activities that is similar to day-camps.
This camp is organized by volunteers from our adjacent BSA district and is not a Pack 991-leadership organized activity. If interested, more information is posted here (https://scoutingevent.com/082-Patriot23cuboree)
If any questions, contact Matthew Kurtz and/or Sean Tompkins. We have done these in the past two years. This a great camp location with a great series of activities available.
Past Event - Spook-tacular Festival at Camp Snyder (October 27th-29th)
Camp Snyder is hosting a fun weekend of activities. A "Zombie Run", archery, STEM Activities, and fall foods.
There is a inflatable bounce village that should really get the energy out of our Scouts.
Families can camp together at Camp Snyder for $15 per person. If not familiar, the camp provides the campsite, showers, water, and other basic amenities. Families bring their food, tents, and basic camping gear.
