Dues for Pack 203 are based on an academic calendar year, starting in August. Annual dues for Pack 203 are $300 per year for all scouts K-5. These dues cover all materials for the scout with the exception of the Cub Scout uniform. this includes the neckerchief and slide for the next rank (given at Crossover in May), a handbook for the next rank (given at Crossover in May), all pack awards, one pack t-shirt, pack activities and field trip expenses.
Scouting America assesses a separate annual fee that is paid online directly to the Greater Colorado Council. For 2024, this fee was $85 per Scout, and families can include the Scout's Life magazine subscription for an additional $15.
Pack 203 relies on dues to fund an engaging and interesting program for our Scouts. But, first and foremost we want all youth to be able to participate! If your family is unable to pay the annual fees, please contact your Den Leader, the Treasurer or the Cubmaster to discuss alternate payment options or our scholarship program. We do not want dues to stand in the way of your child enjoying Cub Scouts.
Dues can be paid in person by cash or check, or online through the Pack 203 Cheddar Up account.
The Pack 203 Treasurer will attempt to collect on all past-due accounts via any reasonable means available. This includes but is not limited to direct mail, e-mail, phone and personal discussion. Please let your Den Leader, the Cubmaster or the Treasurer know if you have any questions or concerns about Pack 203 dues in general or your account balance specifically. We will not send anyone to collections and want your Scout to continue participating and enjoying the Cub Scout program while we work with you to address any financial concerns.
Questions are welcome and can be submitted using our Contact Us information sheet.
Fundraising covers almost everything!
Pack 203 provides multiple fundraising opportunities every year. The annual pack dues can be covered entirely by fundraising if a family has the time and interest in participating in the pack fundraising events.
The annual pack dues cover: pack outings, a pack t-shirt, all pack awards, the Pinewood Derby, the Rain Gutter Regatta, a model rocket launch, our Family Camping weekend and other activities.
Expenses you can expect to incur include optional Greater Colorado Council camping events, a scout uniform and admission on field trip events for parents and siblings.
Initial Cost (based on 2023 prices):
Ongoing Cost:
Annual Scouting America Registration Fee, annual pack dues (which can be covered by fundraising) and new rank-specific hats and neckerchief slides (optional). Pack 203 provides returning Scouts with a new handbook and a new rank-specific neckerchief every year.
The Greater Colorado Council has scholarships for Scouts who cannot afford a uniform. Pack 203 also has a small collection of second-hand uniforms and handbooks that are available.
We hold our Blue and Gold Banquet at King of Glory Lutheran Church and ask that each family make a $5.00 donation at the event to thank the church for the use of its facilities, which it provides to the Pack for free. The Pack collects the money and then sends the accumulated funds to the church in a thank you card.
If a Den has an Adventure that includes an outing, the Pack will ordinarily pay for the Scout’s admission. If parents or siblings wish to attend/participate, they must pay their own entry fee. If the cost of an outing will cause a financial burden, please notify your Den Leader or the Cubmaster and we will work out an alternate solution.
