Good conduct and a good reputation enable participants to take pride in their CTSO (DECA, FCCLA, HOSA, and SkillsUSA). This CTSO conference is an official DOE function; therefore, all DOE rules will apply and be enforced throughout the event. In addition, the following rules will apply:
- You will behave in a professional manner at all times and reflect positively on yourself, your school, and your organization.
- You will keep your advisor informed of your whereabouts at all times.
- You will wear your official convention nametag at all times at the conference site.
- You will adhere to the dress code during the entire conference.
- You will behave as a professional by being on-time and attending all general sessions and activities to which you are assigned or registered.
- You will show respect to those on stage as well as those in the audience.
- You will, at all times, respect all public and private property, including event facilities.
- You will not smoke or chew tobacco or purchase, consume, or be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs at any time. Violations are subject to school disciplinary action and legal consequences.
- You will only take emergency rescue or daily medication prescribed by a licensed physician. If you are required to take medication, you will have a copy of the prescription with you at all times.
- You will report any accidents, injuries, illnesses, or incidents to your advisor immediately. Advisors should report these incidents to the state coordinator.
- You will not use inappropriate, libelous, profane or language that incites riots.
- Your conduct shall be exemplary at all times.
- You will spend the night in your assigned hotel room.
- You will strictly abide by the established curfew and shall respect the rights of others by being as quiet as possible after curfew.
- You will not go into each others' rooms.
- You will not leave the hotel without the express permission of your advisor. Should you receive permission, you will leave a written notice of where you will be.
- Your parents or legal guardians and yourself will be responsible for paying any additional room charges – phone calls, pay per view movies, room service, food, etc.
- Your parents or legal guardians and yourself will also be responsible for any charges incurred for repair for damages or vandalism to private or public property, or theft.
Should you not follow the rules, you may be subject to disciplinary action and may be sent home immediately. Your parents or guardian will be responsible for picking you up.
