ABOUT US

Church Twinning International-Liberia was established and incorporated in 2023 after several conversations between CTI Co-Founder Emeritus the late Rev. Dr. Sidney R. Holston and Rev. Sidney W. Morris, former Executive Director of International Outreach at The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church Atlanta, Georgia. After returning home to Liberia, West Africa, Rev. Morris sought out a church that could envision the concept of Church Twinning and after prayerful consideration a partnership was formed with the Pastor of Larkpazee Community Church, Rev. Amos Fagans. Larkpazee Community Church is the parent church of the Association of Community Churches in Liberia. Pastor Fagans serves as the National Director for CTI-Liberia and will assist with identifying churches and pastors in the region who desire to "twin" with churches in other countries. Minister Charlene S. Bowden serves as the International Director for CTI-Liberia and works in the same capacity within the U.S.A.

A Message from Rev. Sidney W. Morris
Director, Transid Global Ministries

After living in the United States for more than 20 years, I returned home to Liberia in 2020 with a deep conviction that I had a responsibility to give back to the country and people who helped shape me. As an ordained minister, I believe ministry is not only what we preach—it is also how we respond when we see a need.

When I returned, one of the things that affected me most was seeing children walking the streets during hours when they should have been sitting in classrooms. I soon learned that for many of them, the issue was not a lack of desire to learn. Their parents simply could not afford the cost of tuition and other school expenses.

That same year, Transid Global Ministries was formed as a nongovernmental organization (NGO) with a mission to support the educational well-being of children and young people in Monrovia, Liberia. Through educational assistance, mentoring, encouragement, and personal support, Transid helps young people know that someone sees them, someone cares about them, and someone believes their future matters.

Liberia continues to experience the lasting social and economic challenges of its post-war history. Families are working to rebuild their lives and communities, but too many children remain vulnerable to poverty, interrupted education, and the distractions that can pull them away from a productive future.

We believe lasting change must begin with our youth. When we help a child stay in school, we are doing more than paying tuition—we are investing in the future of Liberia.

Our work is simple, but our hope is great: give children an opportunity, surround them with people who care, and help them believe that a different future is possible.

West African palm Tree

We see CTI Liberia as we see the west African palm tree. A tree that embodies life even in the most harshest conditions. It's uses are multiple from food to shelter to fuel and weaponry. It is known that wherever there is a West African palm tree a people can flourish! So too, we see CTI-Liberia as we twin, people will form relationships and partnerships in Christ for kingdom building regardless of borders and cultures, Let's Twin!
