Quoll Writer is an extremely powerful, yet easy to learn creative writing word-processor and ideas organizer. While its true focus is in creative writing, it is a wonderful tool to annotate, segment and organize ideas too.
With Quoll Writer, writers can develop and jump between chapters that are displayed as discrete elements of a larger creative effort, as well as keep track of characters, locales, plot points and other project notes that are instantly available parts of the project. The software does this in a deceptively simple and attractive interface that users can easily modify to suit their particular needs, Sharing within a collaborative team is also easy, because Quoll Writer is capable of exporting writing projects in Microsoft Word, ePub3, and HTML file formats. Such versatility is especially useful for writers of creative works such as short stories, novels, articles, and screenplays, yet Quoll Writer can also be used for more prosaic writing as well.
Given its surprising number of useful features, Quoll Writer is probably only rivaled by expensive creative writing software suites yet it is absolutely FREE for anyone to download and use without the need to register to get it. As such, it is also great software that budget conscious students and teachers can use for creative writing courses. It is stable, well-maintained and offers a well-documented Help and User Guide. At this time, it is only available for Windows PCs.
