Groundwater also referred to as the Aquifer is the water that is below top soil, typically ground water is present in gravel, sand and other pore spaces or fractures in rock formations. Ground water can be accessed by both rural and municipal well systems for human use. Spring water, commercially sold or otherwise is water from the groundwater supply that has been forced to the surface due to pressure. Pressure can occur from high lands to low lands like valleys or from excessive precipitation and gravity.
