GROUNDWATER ⇨ OCEAN/HARBOR
What’s the Story?
Seeeeep! Slowly seeping along, water makes its way from an underground aquifer out into the ocean. Groundwater flow is a slow process driven by gravity and water pressure. As groundwater moves towards the coastline it can become “brackish,” meaning the deep fresh water that has accumulated underground from the rain becomes a little salty as it gets closer to where the land meets the ocean.
