Five Stations (Transects across the Canyon) (each station for 20 mins?)

    • iNaturalist

    • Pick a species (slide 8)

    • Take pictures of each one you find in our iNaturalist group

  2. Temperature

    • comparison-gradients - transect (aspect, coverage),(air vs surface) (Norm, Li)

            • Air Temp take 2 minutes - 1m height - shade the probe

            • surface - use gun every

          • IR photography - take photos of the transect and other interesting locations.

  3. Soil measurements (Matthew)

    • Soil hardness/compactness comparison (nail test) how many hits to put the nail in

    • Depth to moisture level 4 (aka dry - using soil moisture probe) - how deep when the moisture sensor changes

            • Also record ph and temp

  4. CO2 measurements using PocketLab (does it vary as we get close to vegetation)
