India became concerned with the privacy settings and security Whatsapp provided to its customers after they believed peoples personal information would be exposed. This exposure would come from a new feature Whatsapp was to rollout. Because of this update people would be able to more easily impersonate or use phishing scams to gain personal information. With these concerns India asked Whatsapp to put a hault on the rollout of this new feature until security measures were put into place. This type of security issue is a phising, and indentity fraud issue, and the users would be affected.
