Office and Business Applications
What I Did
I accomplished lessons on various business applications including Mind Map and Microsoft software.
I accomplished a lesson on Internet browsing.
Mind Map
I used a free online program, diagrams.net to create an organized mind map to help me plan a task of my choice. My plan was to break down the steps to getting a job. I learned the following:
I did not know that the mind map site existed, so that was the first new thing I learned.
Through the mind map project I learned how to create a diagram using drawio.com.
I also learned just how helpful creating a mind map is to me because it helps me organize my thinking.
Technical Skills
As I reflect on the Office Application trainings, I realize I learned many skills. I was glad to have a formal training on the softwares that I have been expected to know and use my whole life. My main accomplishments included:
I completed many in depth SIMpaths related to Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
I learned new things about all three softwares, but I learned the most about Excel since I have the least amount of experience with it.
I learned what all of the features in the ribbon and on the task bar would allow me to do.
I learned how to incorporate formulas into my spreadsheets.
What I Learned
I learned the difference between saving and exporting a file.
I learned that Word has more features than I imagined. I learned advanced skills like automatic references and table of contents.
I learned the importance of using the Navigation panel in Word.
