For this project, we were to pick a country that was outside of the U.S. and research where they stand when it comes to the digital world. There are differences in each and every country, negatives and positives. We were to compare with another student and make a PowerPoint on the similarities and differences. I picked Iceland and my partner picked Tokyo. While researching I didn't realize how ahead Iceland is. Almost 99% of the country has internet access. They are a population of half a million people. Size or not that is very impressive. While reading what my partner researched, I noticed that the youth population in Tokyo is 57%. I learned that so many youths want to go there for education and job opportunities. So much so that they created dual residency, where they can have a legal residence in two or more countries. This is so that they can have access to the benefits of all of them.
Through this project I not only was able to learn a lot about technology around the world, but different countries and how they function. I got to learn all about the different projects both Iceland and Tokyo are working on to create a better and more advanced society. I also was able to practice a lot of what we have learned in class, like how to set up a paper properly with title, heading, bullets, etc. Me and my partner both went back in forth through email to make sure we were doing our best and had the right content. We worked on it at the same time so we were able to fix each other's mistakes. I had a great partner to work with.
