Alma

Alma is a secure, easy-to-use online system that brings important school information and tools together in one place. We expect this to save school leaders and teachers time, and make it easier to get a complete view of what’s happening with each student’s learning.

What is the Alma Parent Portal?

In addition to educator tools, Alma offers a parent and student portal to help families stay informed and on track with student learning. The portal provides access to:

• School Calendar

• Staff Directory

• Class Rosters

• Attendance History

• Assignments

• Grades

All students and parents will have gotten an email from Alma with information about how to set up an account and log into the portal. If you have any questions about logging in, please refer to this helpful guide.

Google Classroom

Assignments are posted on Google Classroom and can be accessed when a student is absent.

Google Calendar

If we are ever remote, all students should check their Google calendar every morning because of of their Zoom links for their synchronous classes and small groups will be listed.

Zoom

Zoom is a video conferencing application that is more powerful and has more features than Google Hangouts. Your teacher might invite you to a class in Zoom. You can access using your laptop or phone.

Be sure to allow the program access to your camera and microphone.

Joining Zoom from an email

You'll most likely be invited in an email, and in that email you'll see a link to Join Zoom Meeting. Go ahead and click the link. It's possible the invite will come in a Google Calendar event. You can click the link in that too!

Joining Zoom from Google Calendar

Open Google Calendar, tap on the Zoom meeting link to open a browser and join the meeting. Check calendar invite for password which you need to add.

Joining Zoom With a Phone

You can download the Zoom mobile app for your iOS or Android device from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store .

Troubleshooting Zoom

My camera and/or mic are not working.

Go to System Preferences/Security & Privacy. Click the Privacy tab. Find the camera and/or mic in the sidebar and check the box next to the zoom.us app.
