Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between study hall, tutoring and office hours?

   • Study Hall is an academic support that is open to ALL CSA students. Some students may be assigned to study hall dependent on academic needs. Any student can go to study hall, and they may be assigned to go to study hall by their teachers.

   • Subject Specific Tutoring is a targeted support for specific students. Not all students will be eligible for tutoring. CSA will offer tutoring at specific times throughout the year, and your student's teachers will reach out if they would like your student to join tutoring.

   • Office Hours are independently run by CSA teachers on Mondays, until 3:15 pm. 

2. How will I know if my student is going to study hall?

   • CSA staff are expected to reach out to parents if they are asking your student to stay for study hall. However, parents must confirm their child is attending study hall by 1:00 PM. Students can not be held without explicit confirmation from parents. Please be sure that you have updated your contact information with your student's teachers!

3. What time does study hall end?

   • Study hall will dismiss at 5:00. Please communicate whether your student will be dismissed to go home or should go to MY programming.

4. How can I send my student to Study Hall?

   • Parents can utilize the after school attendance form to opt their child into study hall. If you would like to send your child to study hall every day, please email afterschool@cityschoolofthearts.org
