New York City Family Guide to Special Education Services
Guide to Special Education Procedures for Students Attending Charter Schools
CSA offers the program settings for ICT classrooms and mandated IEP related services
IEP Meetings
Students have an IEP meeting at least once per school year
The Committee for Special Education (CSE) schedules the meetings and communicates with the school
The CSA SpED department informs families of the date and time as soon as possible
Families can participate via Microsoft Teams (phone or camera call) or in person at the school
Parents have the right to request a re-evaluation meeting at any point if they do not agree with the current services
Families must have this form completed annually to qualify for transportation on a student's IEP
This process can take up to 8 weeks
It's recommended families with incoming students complete this paperwork prior to beginning the new school year
