THE BASICS
1) Respect People and Property:
Treat your fellow customers and the staff with basic good manners and respect. Do not handle or move people's property that is not your own without permission. If you are shopping, be careful with merchandise you are considering; you break it, you bought it.
2) Observe Good Hygiene:
If you walk into the store smelling strongly of body odor, pet refuse, controlled substances, or other offensive smells, you will be asked to leave until you address this.
3) No Drugs & Alcohol:
Do not join us under the influence of controlled substances, or display, consume, or use them in the store. Do not smoke or vape near the front or back doors.
4) Do not be Provocative:
Do not actively or passively provoke conflict or argument. Be fully clothed (transparent clothing doesn't count). Do not display inciting slogans or brandish weapons. We are here to come together over our shared love of games and gaming, not underscore our differences in world view or politics.
5) No Soliciting or 3rd Party Sales:
The store is the only commercial entity permitted on its premises or online resources. If you want to sell us something, contact us remotely to arrange an appointment. If you want to sell our customers something, either do so through us, or do so elsewhere.
6) Be Safe:
Under no circumstances pressurize air systems, touch shop tools, or move tables without explicit permission. Do not point paintball markers at people or in unsafe directions. Do not horseplay or in any way endanger people or property. Do not leave immature children or adult wards unattended. If you are sick, stay home and get well.
7) Join Us at Your Own Risk:
We do what we reasonably can to provide a safe and pleasant environment to shop and game in, but the world is not safe, no one is perfect, and accidents happen. When you walk through the door, you join us at your own risk.
RULES OF THE GAMING HALL
1) No Counterfeit Gaming Product:
ALL counterfeits of (or generic substitutes for) intellectually protected gaming pieces (cards, miniatures, etc.) are banned from our tabletops. Use of fakes is seeking advantage without having paid for it (and may be breaking the law). They are unfair to everyone who has worked hard and bought their gaming pieces. Do not play fakes in tournaments or open play - they are not a part of the CPG community.
2) Sportsmanlike Conduct:
Conduct yourself at all times in a sportsmanlike manner. Do not cheat, and do not "baby seal club" newer players. Our veteran players do not seek out victims, but instead always look to help foster the next generation of skilled, veteran players.
3) One person, One Table:
If you are playing on a given table, your belongings should not be on a different table.
4) Do not be Disruptive:
Noise from your table should not disrupt other gamers or customers. Keep language and topics appropriate for polite company. Do not openly carry, display, or advertise possession of concealed weapons while participating in a game.
5) Respect Store Loaner Items:
If you damage store loaner items, such as miniatures terrain, board games, books, or cards, you are financially responsible for their replacement or repair. Keep drinks, glue, paint, etc. off of store playmats. Do NOT re-pack store terrain or board games! Leave them on your table when you are finished - the staff will re-pack them.
6) Respect the Store's Schedule:
Gaming hours are clearly posted. Do not attempt to occupy the tables before this schedule begins, or play past "dice down" / "cards down." The store will sometimes have special scheduling requirements; please respect them.
7) You must be 11 or older:
You must be 11 years old (or in at least 6th grade) to play in the gaming hall unsupervised. Younger children are welcome with an adult (18+) chaperon.
ONLINE RULES
1) Stay On-Topic:
Online Channels have topic descriptions; please read them and stay on topic. There are off-topic and general channels for non-specific subjects.
2) No Excessive Complaining:
We are not running endless whining / griping / doom-posting groups. Be positive!
3) Keep Content Appropriate:
Do not post explicit content, pornography, politics, or make grossly excessive use of expletives in your conversation.
4) Do not post Competing Content:
Our online resources are store sponsored. Do not post links to the products or events of competing businesses, venues, or persons without explicit permission from an admin. Do not post photos or renders of counterfeit gaming pieces, such as fake Magic cards or Warhammer models, or encourage others to use them (check out "The Do's and Don'ts of 3D Printing" for more info).
THE DO's AND DON'Ts OF 3D PRINTING
Acceptable Uses:
Creating tables or terrain
Creating weapons, badges, accessories, or minor modification parts for official models
Creating game aids and accessories
Recreating and replacing the very occasional lost or damaged squad member model to round out numbers in a discontinued unit
Unacceptable Uses:
Creating illegal copies of intellectually protected sculpts
Creating legally distinct substitutes for intellectually protected sculpts
Duplicating most of an intellectually protected model to which a few token "official" parts will be added
Legally creating non-protected miniatures for use in games supported by the store in such numbers that they noticeably compete with the store's own commercial operations
Gray Areas:
Sometimes game companies create "exclusive" models to which they do not allow some or all resellers access, but include unrestricted rules for the use of such models in their games - a state of affairs distinctly unfair to resellers. Ordinarily, we would simply refuse to do business with companies that embraced such policies. However, popular demand sometimes makes these business partners necessary.
We may choose to not expend any effort to enforce our anti-IP theft restrictions against copies of models our partners refuse to make available to us, especially if:
A) There is no readily available official model that can reasonably approximate the exclusive model, and
B) Such models make up no more than 50% of a force, measured by model count, weight, area, or MSRP value, at our discretion, and
C) Solicitation to distribute such models is not done on our premises or over our online platforms.
However, note that if an official version of a previously exclusive model is made available to us, we reserve the right to resume enforcement of our normal anti-copying rules without delay.
