Creative Pursuit Games, Inc. was founded in 2019 by Mr. Dane van Norden and Ms. Kaitlin Heazel.
Our mission was to create a little patch of "AWESOME!" in Western Loudoun.
Come visit, and let us know how we're doing!
Dane van Norden is an avid paintballer and miniatures wargamer. He's a veteran of the Virginia Tech Paintball Team, and of countless table-top battles. He's also an amateur Dreadnought-era naval warfare historian.
In his spare time, he builds and tunes Autocockers, gets hit by paintballs, free-hand paints nose art on his miniatures, and works on developing naval combat games...
Kaitlin Heazel is an accomplished cosplayer and paintballer. She's a veteran of the Carter's Commando's paintball group, and has helped run Baltimore / Washington Otakon for several years.
In her spare time, she reads, builds amazing costumes, and tries to stop Dane getting hit by quite so many paintballs by very surgically picking off their source(s) while he has them distracted...
The gaming community of Creative Pursuit Games, Inc. descends from the tabletop wargaming community of Leesburg Hobbies & Collectibles, which from 2001 - 2022 was Western Loudoun's only small, family-owned general-purpose hobby shop, and the only small hobby shop in Loudoun to survive the recession of 2009.
Dane started playing with the Leesburg Hobbies gaming group in 2003, and cut his teeth in the gaming industry by working there from 2004 - 2011. Dane and Kaitlin actually met at one of the shop's game nights!
In 2018 Leesburg Hobbies decided to move their business away from miniatures wargames and concentrate on other products. We negotiated to purchase and transplant their extant miniatures gaming lines, and our own shop was born.
Sadly, Leesburg Hobbies closed its doors for the last time in December 2022 after an impressive 20-year run. We honor its memory by carrying on its traditions of fair play, camaraderie, and excellence.
