In my piece, I used a gradient of shades of grey paint around butterfly wings in order to symbolize the declining number of monarchs we are seeing lately. While the greys symbolize the monarch's endangerment, it also symbolizes a world without them. Without monarch buytterflies, less of our plants would be poroperly pollinated!
My sustainable art piece is made from the wings of a monarch butterfly. The monarch butterfly was found on a beach, and it likely passed away during migration; it is ethically sourced, so no worries here!

I feel that being able to see the wings of a butterfly up close allows people to appreciate them more, as well as understand how truly fragile they are.
Monarch butterflies are currently endangered! This is caused by a variety of things, such as habitat loss, pesticides, and more. In their migration journey, monarchs stop at points in Mexico and California during the winter, and then tend to spread our all over North America during the summer.
Monarch butterflies are important to our environment because they are pollinators! If you have a garden thet play a major role, alongside bees, to help you plants and flowers grow.
