Throughout my sustainable art research I discovered Cyanotype, one of the oldest photographic techniques. Cyanotype is an eco-friendly way of making photographs without a camera or any electricity. It consists of non-toxic, iron based chemicals. The sun's UV rays are used to develop images on your choice of media, which leaves you with a beautiful piece of art!
Cyanotyping Process
Here are the supplies I used
First I mixed Part A and B and painted it onto seashells, paper, and clay
I printed multiple images that I took on acetate to create my cyanotype negatives. The acetate can be used over and over again.
Here were some of my final products after the process of exposing my materials to sunlight, rinsing them in clean water, and spraying them with peroxide (to darken the cyan color)
