This experimentation was about re-using materials and giving it a new purpose, for this got a piece of an old tescos bag and machine stitched into it. I had to be delicate when doing this so the plastic didn't rip and create a gap, this created a lovely piece that shows how malleable this material is.
For this piece again it was about recycling materials, with this one i found some old tinsel strings and started to knit them together. This was interesting to create because the tinsel is not as smooth as normal wool so it created a scratchy feel, i hooked it onto my wall and put some earrings onto it and it suited so well and kept the earrings stable.
This piece was an experimental idea of what my final piece would look like but on a larger scale.
This was my final piece containing old materials from my past generations of family and using some of my old materials. It is on a very large scale.
This creation of mine is a technique called French Knot Embroidery, and it shows a flower called Echinacea's growing stages. i did this plant specifically because it represents healing and strength, which was a big theme in my final piece.
This 6 piece series artwork is based on my healing and my journey through my brain over months. The techniques i used was Lino printing and French Knot embroidery, i played alot with colours in this work and had it like dark colours = sad and bright colours = happy. This gives people an insight into how someone's mind and thoughts could be feeling behind closed doors and i hope it gives people another way to see things, because you never know what people might be going through, and hope that if someone who is feeling simialr things can look at my work and see that things do get better.
