The backyards of some museums in Vienna's museum quarter are high frequented hang-out squares. However, in Summer it is degraded to a transit area due to its hot microclimate. Hence, the City of Vienna aims for longterm greenery on the squares. In the meantime, temporary trees and bushes are planned. This project shows that even extensive greenery can be implemented temporarily which might be needed in Nordic seasonal climate conditions.
