As a music educator, I find happiness in teaching and fostering a supportive community among classmates in an environment that students and teachers learn from each other. Each student is an individual human being that comes from different cultural backgrounds and differences, this is imperative to give each student the awareness of what is around them and be inspired to find their rightful place in this world. I am a firm believer in kindness and respect in my classroom.  It is important to understand that students learn in different ways whether it's kinesthetically, visually, aurally, or verbally. It is crucial for students to get the education that the students deserve.  This idea will have the students be able to create, respond, perform, and connect to music. These personal acts require a great deal of confidence in an encouraging environment. 

Music is all around these children today. Music is a coping mechanism for people in need. I want to inspire students to learn and express different types of genres of music. I want to install different genres of music that students are listening to today. This will install a culture in my classroom that will enforce a positive learning environment and culturally relevant topics that relate to students in today's world. This idea will promote a positive environment and a successful outcome in each class. As educators, we need to respond to what students are interested in. This will promote a safe and positive learning environment for students to create with classmates, collaborate with classmates when responding, and a heightened sense of self and willingness to participate in positive risk-taking.
