These tops were some of my first experiments in creating my own zero waste garments.
I had one yard of turquoise cotton interlock in my stash and challenged myself to make a top using the entire piece. After cutting two rectangles for the body, I used the remaining bits to add short sleeves. I used the front neck cutout as a facing on the back neckline and bound the edges and the shoulders with strips of fabric. I had a couple of tiny piece left that I turned into tabs on the sleeves.
I followed a similar formula to create the sweatshirt top out of French terry, adding longer sleeves and a band along the bottom edge.
