Runfold Landfill Sites

There are two landfill sites in Guildford Road operated by SUEZ.

Runfold North has ceased operations and is in its aftercare period. With sheep grazing, it is looking particularly well maintained :

Runfold South:

SUEZ have carried out many works beneficial to the local community – fencing, landscaping, removal of fixed buildings and equipment in the central area. However, the current economic environment, particularly under Covid-19, has created problems for SUEZ with regard to final completion and the subsequent move to restoration. They are committed to delivering the approved restoration masterplan in due course. They understand and sympathise with residents' frustration that the 2021 date for completion was unable to be met owing to economic conditions but feel strongly that a few more years in which to source inert material and restoration soils will deliver the right long term restored landform. Discussions on details continue with the Community Liaison Group which monitors progress on behalf of the local residents.
