Opening Message from the CQE Coordinator

Good morning,

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you all to CQE Days 2025!

We have two exciting days ahead of us, with four leading international plenary speakers, talks, flash presentations, posters, round tables on innovation, and many new initiatives.

This event is not only a gathering of all CQE researchers, collaborators and PhD students but it is a celebration of the great science, I dare to say the excellent science, that CQE members being over the past few years.

Our researchers have been pushing the boundaries of knowledge, aligned with the four thematic lines, advanced materials, catalysis and molecular design, medical chemistry and green chemistry. The impact of this work is felt not only in academic journals and academic projects but also increasingly in the real world—in projects with industry, in environmental policy, and in emerging technologies that address global challenges.

Just like CQE Days 2024 were dedicated to the thematic Bonding with the Future, these CQE Days are dedicated to Collaboration – the change from individual efforts into collective breakthroughs.

As we share our latest findings, we must also remember that science thrives not just on data, but on dialogue—on curiosity, on constructive criticism, and on the courage to ask hard questions and engage in scientific discussion.  Scientific culture is not only based on creativity, rigor and integrity but also in mentorship and collaboration. These CQE Days are dedicated not only to sharing groundbreaking findings, but also to foster new collaborations, at the edge of fields, that will carry our science even further. Let us use these days to challenge each other, inspire one another, and to start new partnerships that can shape the future of science at CQE!

This meeting is also a moment to recognize the incredible people behind the science, our students, postdocs, staff, and partners, and your dedication, creativity, and curiosity. Thank you for your commitment to excellence, and to turn ideas into impact.
