Is is an Auxiliary Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, and a researcher at Centro de Química Estrutural. She combines her academic career with her passion for photography.

Between 2004 and 2019, she attended various photography schools in Lisbon. Her photographic journey began at APAF, where she developed a deep interest in travel photography. Her first artistic project, Diagramas, emerged from her training at NAFIST. The project debuted at the Tapada da Ajuda Exhibition Pavilion and was later showcased at the University of Aveiro Library and the Gil Vicente Theatre in Coimbra, among other venues.

In 2016/17, she attended Atelier de Lisboa, where she developed the project Onze mil Kelvin, which was shown in the group exhibition A Cidade (2017, at Confeitaria). In 2019, she completed a postgraduate program in Discourses of Contemporary Photography at the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, where she developed the project Resonance, showcased in the group exhibition Em cc. - Suspension and Gravity (2019, at the Cisterna da FBAUL). In March 2022, she participated in the collective exhibition By Invitation Only at Passe Vite Gallery, in Lisbon.

Her career included both artistic and documentary projects. Since Onze mil kelvin her work has focused on using urban landscapes as a lens to explore inner territories.
