Laboratory 5 - DAC Siren

Connect the PmodI²S module into PMOD jack JA1 on the Nexys2 boards as shown in Figure 1.

Create a new project named Siren using the same project settings as in Labs 1 and 2.
Create a new VHDL source file 'dac_if.vhd' and insert the code
Create a new VHDL source file 'tone.vhd' and insert the code
Create a new VHDL source file 'wail.vhd' and insert the code
Create a new VHDL source file 'siren.vhd' and insert the code
Create a new XDC constraint file 'siren.xdc' and insert the code
Run the Generate Bitstream (it will also run Synthesis and Implemented Design if out-of-date)
Open the Hardware Manager and connect the Nexys 4 DDR board.
Program the device with the file 'siren.bit'

To change the upper and lower tones and the wailing speed of the siren, modify the 1st integer in the 'to_unsigned" in the behavior of the siren in 'siren.vhd' as shown to the right.

2. To change the triangle wave to a square when a button is pressed, modify the code in 'siren.vhd' as shown to the right

modify the code in 'wail.vhd' as shown to the right

3. To change the wailing speed to increase depending on the switches, modify the code in 'siren.vhd' as shown to the right

4. To add a second wail instance to drive the audio in the right channel, modify the code in 'siren.vhd' as shown to the right

Note: there should be another file under siren for w1 and w2
