The Silver Oak Forest (sometimes referred to as 'The Forest of the Silver Oak') is the largest forest in Estragales and indeed one of the largest and oldest forests in the known world, only rivalled by the great forest of Erin and the goblin forest of Siberia. It is home to many odd and esoteric creatures and is the last truly untamed wild place in the country, and an echo of Estagales' neighbour Lyonesse. It is a place steeped in superstition, legend and magic, a place of savage beauty and wonder.

In recent years, the North-Eastern part of the forest has been decimated by war. While occupied by the Empire of the Golden Isles during the greenskin wars, large swathes of the forest were harvested for wood to fuel the empire's war machine.

The Silver Oak Forest is ruled over by a number of elven families, the largest and most powerful being known simply as the Silver Oak Elves, or Elves of the SIlver Oak. Elders of these families form a council that meet at the turning of each moon to discuss matters of import.
