Teens mentor elementary school students to keep them motivated and active during quarantine, as well as taking stress off parents by providing daily activity sessions and one-on-one tutoring.

We offer daily tutoring sessions in English, Math, Science, and History alongside daily activities that change on a week-to-week basis.
Our activities range from academic activities such as read aloud, coding, and journaling, to art activities, and exercises.
All of our live sessions are taught by high school volunteers who have experience working with kids and high-achieving academic & community service qualifications. Before the Zoom session, parents give their digital signature with a consent form to allow for the use of cameras and microphone, in order to ensure the safety of both our students and mentors. None of the sessions are recorded (so there is not a privacy issue). We ask that you fill out this consent form and liability waiver as well when you first participate in the Covid NineTEEN Project programming.
No, the consent form only needs to be signed once.
Please access the form here if you haven't already signed it for 2021!
Go on the activities or tutoring page of our website and submit which dates and times your child will be attending sessions. After filling out the attached Google Form, you will be sent a Zoom link. Please sign up your children for sessions at least the night before each session is scheduled.
If you'd like to sign up for additional classes after submitting a google form response, we ask that you fill out the google form again with any additions.
Students arrive to the Zoom call and are placed in a "waiting room." Based on the help they type that they need in the chat, they are paired with a teen mentor tutor in a "break out room." Please note that not all students may get tutored in a session, depending on how many tutors are available.
Yes! While all of our sessions are hosted on Pacific Time, as long as you are aware of that, you can still participate as a student or teen mentor.

Two hours prior to the activity your child is signed up for, emails will be sent containing links for the corresponding Zoom meetings.
The newsletters will contain information about the week's upcoming events, including new activities.
