Brief Overview

The aim of this study is to understand the effects of stress and other mental health related elements derived from situations concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, throughout 44 participating countries.

Beginning in March 2020 with an initiative by Dr. Andreas Lieberoth of Aarhus University, Denmark, the project was replicated for various languages and regions including Mexico. Although the project does not follow a strict timeline measure, the progression of stress within a nation can nevertheless be compared based on what is occurring in each nation as it moves through certain phases of the pandemic.

The Mexico team decided to form this website for the COVIDiSTRESS project to share ideas with the general public, the media, colleagues, and most importantly as a form of appreciation and information sharing platform for those who answered our call to action by participating in the survey in our country. The results allow us to anticipate damaging effects due to stress specific to the situation, suggest ways of addressing those effects, accompanied with potential psychosocial treatment for all who are affected.

You are invited to participate in this collaborative scientific effort by completing the survey found here.

The following sections explain the technical aspects of the project more thoroughly along with the results.
