Update on Accessing the 2025-26 COVID-19 Vaccine in Virginia
On September 10, 2025, the State Health Commissioner signed a standing order standing to allow people18 years of age and older to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at a pharmacy without a prescription in line with FDA indications. This includes:
People aged 65 years or older
People aged 18-64 years with at least one underlying condition that puts them at higher risk for severe infection.
People 18-64 years of age without underlying conditions or parents of children under 18 years of age should consult with their healthcare provider.
