Virgina Health Officials Confirm Third 2025 Measles Case in the State

June 5, 2025

RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is reporting the state’s third measles case of the year. The patient is a child (0-4 years) in the Northwest Region who developed symptoms after exposure to another Virginia measles case. To protect the family’s privacy, VDH will not provide any additional information about the patient. Public health officials are coordinating efforts to identify anyone who might have been exposed. CDC Publications on Demand allows you to order a limited selection of public health materials such as printed copies of factsheets, posters, reports, books, and other educational materials.

CDC’s Publications on Demand will close in September 2025. The last day for orders is August 15, 2025.

Bullets Make it Better

Bullets are an easy way to reduce the reading level of your content.

Bullets:

Make text-heavy content more digestible
Bring attention to important points or steps
Help readers skim and find information they need

How to Use:

Use numbers when presenting a list in a specific order
Use consistent capitalization and punctuation
Don’t nest more than 3 levels deep
Start each bullet with the same part of speech and have the same grammatical structure

Electronic Records Management Training

Virginia’s state and local agencies are required to manage all public records, including electronic records, according to the Virginia Public Records Act, or VPRA (Code of Virginia § 42.1-76–§ 42.1-91). On June 9 and 27 at 10am, there will be an electronic records management training that will discuss record retention requirements. The presentations will last approximately 45 minutes, followed by a Q & A session. These trainings will only be offered live and will not be recorded. No prior registration is required.
