18-04-2024   Our team member, Dzmitry Kharytonau, explored a real Northern Swedish winter during 6-months research stay as a guest researcher in the group of Experimental Physics at the Department of Engineering Sciences and Mathematics at Luleå Tekniska Universitet. During this stay, he learned advanced scanning probe microscopy techniques under the supervision of Prof. Nils Almqvist. The focus was paid to utilizing Intermodulation Atomic force Microscopy (ImAFM) and Intermodulation Electrostatic Force Microscopy (ImEFM) to understand nanomechanical and electrical properties of chitosan-based coatings on Mg alloys. Financial support for this stay was provided by the National Science Center of Poland under the Sonatina 5 grant "Multifunctional chitosan-based composite coatings for biodegradable Mg alloys". We hope it will be the beginning of the cooperation between our groups.

05-10-2023   On September 18-22, 2023, our team member Dzmitry Kharytonau participated in the SMT 35 conference in Hamburg, Germany, organized by Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon and Helmut-Schmidt-Universität. It was so exciting to meet many new people fascinated by science and give a talk on chitosan coatings he works on in the grant Sonatina 5 from NCN National Science Centre. Thanks a lot to all the organizers!

28-09-2023 Two members of our team, dr. Dzmitry Kharytonau and dr. inz. Konrad Skowron, visited the Institute of Surface Science at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon in terms of Erasmus+ program. They visited the labs of the Electrochemistry and Big Data department, gave a seminar on the corrosion of Al and Mg alloys, and discussed the possible collaboration perspectives. We look forward the cooperation between our groups!

15-05-2023 One of our team members,  dr. inz. Konrad Skowron, has been awarded a research grant Sonatina 7 from the National Science Center of Poland. In this 1-year project, he will study the effect of Mg nanocrystallization on corrosion resistance of phosphate conversion coatings for biomedical applications.
