WalkRoutine: Walk Challenges · Corevia Labs
At Corevia Labs, we respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how WalkRoutine: Walk Challenges ("WalkRoutine", "the app", "we", "our") handles information when you use our Android application.
WalkRoutine helps users develop walking habits through walking challenges, step tracking, daily routines, streaks, trophies and progress tracking. Its core functionality is designed to work offline.
1. Information We Process
Walking and activity data
WalkRoutine processes information necessary to provide its walking features, which may include:
Steps recorded during user-initiated walking sessions.
Walking challenge goals, progress and completion history.
Walk duration and selected walking routines.
Streaks, experience points (XP), trophies and other in-app achievements.
App preferences and reminder settings.
Walking information is primarily stored locally on your device. WalkRoutine is a challenge-based walking app and does not require continuous, all-day step tracking.
Optional location data
If you enable GPS route tracking for a walk, WalkRoutine may access your device's location to calculate and display your walking route, distance, pace and speed.
GPS tracking is optional and disabled by default. Location permission is requested when necessary for a GPS-enabled walk. You can use walking challenges without enabling GPS.
Recorded GPS routes are stored locally in encrypted form using Android Keystore-backed encryption. Raw GPS routes are excluded from WalkRoutine's application backups and are not intentionally sent to our analytics or crash-reporting services.
App usage and diagnostic information
WalkRoutine uses Google Firebase services to understand app performance, diagnose errors and improve reliability. Depending on the SDK configuration and your device, these services may process information such as app interactions, diagnostic events, crash reports, device characteristics, operating system information, app version and installation identifiers.
We do not intentionally include raw GPS coordinates or recorded walking routes in analytics events or crash reports.
2. Permissions
WalkRoutine may request the following Android permissions to provide its features.
Permission
Purpose
Physical activity
Count steps during walking challenges using supported device sensors.
Location
Record an optional GPS route and calculate walking distance, pace and speed.
Notifications
Send walking reminders and display notifications for active tracking sessions.
Foreground service
Continue an active walking session when the app is not visible, with a persistent notification.
Location access is not required for basic step counting. You can manage permissions through your Android device settings.
3. How We Use Information
We process information to operate walking challenges, track your progress, maintain your walking history, calculate achievements and streaks, provide reminders, troubleshoot errors, monitor app performance and improve WalkRoutine.
We do not sell your locally stored walking history or raw GPS routes.
4. Third-Party Services
WalkRoutine uses or may use the following third-party services:
Google Firebase Analytics: Helps us understand app usage and identify opportunities to improve the app.
Google Firebase Crashlytics: Helps us identify crashes, investigate technical problems and improve app stability.
Google AdMob, if enabled in the installed version: May display advertisements and process advertising identifiers, device information, ad interactions and other information as described in Google's policies. Depending on your region and consent choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized.
These providers may process information under their own privacy policies. For further details, visit:
5. Data Storage and Security
Walking sessions, challenges, achievements and preferences are primarily stored on your device.
Where GPS routes are recorded, WalkRoutine encrypts them locally. The app also provides local backup and restore functionality using an encrypted backup format. Raw GPS routes are not included in these backups.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
6. Data Sharing
We do not intentionally share your raw walking routes with advertisers or analytics providers.
Information processed by integrated third-party services, such as Firebase or AdMob, may be transmitted to those providers for diagnostics, analytics or advertising purposes. Their handling of that information is governed by their respective policies and applicable agreements.
We may disclose information when required by applicable law.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your locally stored walking information generally remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app's data or uninstall WalkRoutine. You may also manage or delete information through any applicable controls provided within the app.
Encrypted backup files that you export remain wherever you choose to save them until you delete them.
Third-party services may retain analytics, diagnostic or advertising information according to their own retention policies. Uninstalling WalkRoutine does not necessarily delete information already processed by those services.
To make a privacy or deletion-related request, contact us at corevialabsdev@gmail.com.
8. Children's Privacy
WalkRoutine is a general walking and fitness application and is not specifically designed for children. We do not intentionally collect personal information directly from children for our own accounts or profiles.
If you believe a child has provided personal information that requires attention, please contact us.
9. Your Choices
You can choose whether to enable GPS route tracking, grant notification permission, allow physical activity access, export a local backup or remove locally stored app data.
You can revoke Android permissions at any time through your device settings. Revoking a permission may limit features that depend on it.
Where advertising consent or privacy controls are provided, you can use those controls to manage applicable advertising choices.
10. International Data Processing
Although WalkRoutine's core walking information is stored locally, third-party services such as Firebase and, where integrated, AdMob may process information on servers located in other countries. Such processing is subject to the providers' applicable privacy and security practices.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when WalkRoutine's features, integrations or data practices change. The revised version will be published with an updated effective date.
