One of the most recent examples of how scientists are genetically modifying foods to enhance the looks is the Pink Pineapple. The pink pineapple was created to create a more fun and enjoyable fruit which makes it more appealing on the market. Compared to a more traditional pineapple, this pineapple is going to be more desirable on the market, especially among the youth. The way that scientists were able to do this was by reducing the amount of enzymes in a pineapple so that the color appears lighter, in this case it appears pink.
Scientists are continuing to create products that are visually appealing, similar to the pink pineapple. As scientists continue to develop and advance various products, they are attempting to make more products visually appealing so that more people will purchase them. The reason that the pink pineapple has been so successful is because people love the aestetics of the pineapple (they are picture worthy), thus, if scientists can create more visaully appealing products like the pink pineapple, people are going to purchase those goods out of curiousity and desire which will boom the produce market.
