As the years go on more and more scientific data is found to further prove the theory of evolution. Some examples of evidence of evolution are Vestigial Structures, Neoteny, and the Land Bridge Theory. Vestigial structures are structures known as “leftovers” from our ancestors and provide no value for us now (Oxford Science, 2015). Neoteny is the retention of adolescent traits into adulthood (Somel, 2016). A new cutting edge hypothesis has been proposed because of neoteny, therefore, backing up the theory of evolution. Last but not least, the Land Bridge Theory. The Land Bridge Theory states that 15,000 years ago early humans walked across the Bering Strait from Siberia to Alaska being the first humans of North America. As of right now that straight is the length of 50 miles of ocean and goes to depths of 164 feet deep. That being said, it is believed that this straight was walkable 15,000 years ago, for not only humans but also animals such as mammoths, musk ox and lemmings. The science behind all of these findings acts as great evidence of evolution.
