We were over the moon to receive this award from Manchester Student Homes this year. Our tenants voted for us to become winners of the 'Landlord of the Year 2022' award. Here are a selection of the comments sent in by them:

Any problems with anything in the house both Hazel and Ian are quick to follow up issues and resolve as soon as possible.
Hazel and Ian have been superb landlords- they have always been on hand to answer any questions, offer support and with repairs. In the first few weeks at the property, our oven had no numbers on the dials, we raised this to Hazel and Ian replaced the oven the same afternoon- within hours of us raising this issue to Hazel.
Hazel and Ian provided us with a dishwasher in the property at no extra cost and have been fantastic to ensure that repairs are quickly followed through and rectified. This may be with either Ian attending the property or finding a relevant tradesperson to repair. Hazel gave us first refusal on the property for the 2022/2023 academic year and this provided us all with a sense of security and belonging which is a nice feeling from a Landlord.

Both Hazel and Ian conducted viewings with prospective tenants with the upmost respect, Hazel was complimentary of the standards of cleanliness in the house which is always nice to hear.

Both Hazel and Ian are super friendly on a personal level and the relationship never feels over commercial or structured. I would not hesitate to recommend Ian and Hazel for a landlord award or to any prospective tenants looking to for a house in the Fallowfield Area!

Mr Corcoran was my landlord while living at Kingswood Rd for two years. He was a very reliable landlord, always readily available to do repairs and sort out any problems we had with the house. If he wasn't able to sort it out then he would get someone in who did know as soon as he knew about the problem. I feel we all had a very good relationship with him, we were able to talk to him about various worries we had, which he was able to give advice in the best way he could. I would say Mr Corcoran also has a lot of patience and cares for the people who live in the houses he is landlord for.

I have known Ian Corcoran for the past year during which I was a tenant in one of his properties. I know Ian to be a hard working, conscientious and reliable landlord with a professional and fair approach to his tenants. In contrast to previous unpleasant experiences with other student landlords, our tenancy with Ian was trouble free: repairs were always carried out quickly and deposits were handled fairly and efficiently. Ian Corcoran is a beacon of good practice in the student landlord market and I would not hesitate to recommend him.

From the outset Ian has come over as an open and honest person. He made no attempts to hard-sell his property and made clear his intentions to renovate the property early on with his tenants. Whenever we had experienced problems with the property he has been willing and eager to help. Ian has acted professionally with respect to the rent payments and has been available for contacting whenever a replacement key was needed for the property and we did not experience any hassle with the returning of deposits. Ian is a pleasant and approachable person. The relationship between landlord and tenant can be a precarious one but with due respect to his property and prompt payment of rent I do not hesitate to recommend Ian as a landlord.

I highly recommend Corcoran Properties. All the houses are in great condition with very affordable rent and are in ideal locations for students. Very few issues do occur in the house but if they do, Ian is very easy to contact and will deal with the problem quickly.

Ian and Hazel should write a handbook on being great landlords! The house was in a great state and if there were any issues they were fixed right away even on bank holidays and Sundays! They also do no advertising tricks or “beautifying” their listings. When I was looking for accommodation I wasn’t in the UK and couldn’t travel back due to COVID, yet there were no surprises when I moved in.

I’ve lived in all sorts of rental properties over the past 7 years and I can genuinely say that no landlord came even close to Corcoran Properties. You can tell that they truly care about their tenants.
