Hello!
My name is Cora Stackhouse, and I attended Commonwealth University - Lock Haven with a major in PreK-4 / Special Education K-12. I graduated on May 17, 2025, and I am looking forward to the beginning of my teaching journey!
I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember, and I am excited to begin making a positive impact on future generations. My goal is to guide students toward success both in and out of the classroom by fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, and baking.
I believe that a classroom should be a place where students are encouraged to be curious, take ownership of their learning, and develop a growth mindset. I aim to provide a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and reflecting on their progress. I believe that each student learns differently, so I will consistently try to incorporate a variety of teaching strategies in my classroom. This ensures that all students are engaged, whether through interactive discussions, visual aids, or hands-on activities. Ultimately, I want to inspire my students to not only excel academically but also to be lifelong learners who are curious about the world around them!
Throughout my time at Commonwealth University - Lock Haven, I have had multiple opportunities to participate and work in various grade levels and settings. These include a 3rd Grade Learning Support room, Multi-Handicapped Support room, and 2nd Grade classroom. Through each of these experiences, I gained valuable insight into differentiation, lesson planning, classroom management, use of assessments, and professional collaboration.
I student taught in a 3rd Grade Learning Support Classroom from January 2025 to March 2025, where I feel as though I made adequate growth as an educator.
My second student teaching placement was in a 2nd Grade General Education Classroom from March 2025 to May 2025, where I continued to learn and grow my teaching practices.
Most recently, I earned a Bachelor of Science in PreK-4 / Special Education K-12, graduating magna cum laude in May 2025!
