World of Beautification

As I rode and observed the environmental surroundings, I have noticed the flowers of shrubs and trees, the extra curls of hairs at the back of the ram, the polished look of dogs  etc.... These are the beautification mechanism for sexual display and wants. Others are hidden in thoughts and muses. A stressful everyday load and  this represents I think about 30- 50 % of an organisms' pre-occupation in every second of its life. It is permanent and difficult to efface but can be toned down. Yet, it could still find a "leak" and be expressed. I don't think that these sexual signs come only during adolescent or puberty in humans or adult stages in lower animals. Throughout the development of the organisms from zygote to senility these beautification processes and displays are occurring by means of cellular and molecular mechanisms undetected and these could ripen or found visible in latter stages but sometimes even earlier. A cell, a tissue, an organ have to waste these energy in everyday life for not any of which opt to remain neutral or non functional when it comes to sex.

Sid is not common and definitely, becoming only for persons worth knowing for... like famous alumni of UP Diliman, and also those that are not of the UP substance. 

Fatigue is one of the issues during old age or even younger. I worked in a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome* lab. in the US Univ once. And it seems as to current publications from other sources, they are starting to decipher the causes of this. It seems not tied to one virus but it could be a number of viruses where there were previous exposures. It could be product of "post translation" with its own course,  blowing spreading-effects, establishing its own pathway or producing an awkward branch from the normal one or crippling a pathway without relevance to a surprising inducement of obligated symptoms. My statement above is just one of them as what I have reviewed loosely online but I will have to find time to devote to the extent of findings on this, the sooner.

Quite drastic to know that here in the Phil., girls are making hints of their interest to the person personally. As to my long term exposures, I thought this is a basic technique only in the U.S.A. Arts and the Covid Pandemic... It all started on December of 2019.  It's a way of finding a relief that people turn into arts in addition to "practising" their careers [Some UPD people did so].  It's the first time that I did write a "Pinoy script" though this is already displayed somewhere (taken from my FamousFix) ... Memoirs** : Invitation to attend a UN conference, and as a part of the journey, a stop off at a University to offer a speech and the other Invitation was where I was a  member  of the academic committee.  How great to be invited by the Chinese Academy of the Sciences personnel and the SWS China and Asia Chapters, respectively.  Both  funded by the organizers. But I was not able to attend due to reasons beyond my control. I requested for an online presentation (for the first invite) but it is really exciting to see those places personally,  meet the UN people and the other Academicians and Scientists. Nowadays Online Presentations are permitted... but  the Scientific ambiance may not be very good.  "Remembering  talking [in person] lengthily with Ramsar's Nick Davidson* at Cairns during a conference break."

 Congratulations to the UP Rural High  School Scholar in Los Banos who was accepted in top notched  u.s. universities (see news online) for his undergrad with  complete scholarship  package including living allowances, travels, etc.  Thanks to U.P. for offering a well rounded education. This is good and very much a convenience to the scholar (per announced online).  Others are just accepted but what about the other future expenses.  I think if you read Germany (considering if it is still the same), once one is accepted then, free tuition but the rest of the expenses, one need to scout for it.

I like this because the "not so young" are given a sense of importance. I can see their respect here. Besides I like the background songs for the fashion show, especially the female version of the first song. And the clothes and dresses are so nice being carried wonderfully by the models. Retirees, there is still a chance.. body and height I think matters. Here is the link.

Some thoughts for the Earth Day 2023..... The locations of the earth have different responses to excess heat.  I think there must be an ecosystem evaluation among local geographical zones ("Mini biomes" will be located and stratified in local geographic areas) to find which of these places could provide comfort whenever there is high heat index regardless of months.  And how to control heat addition in such places such as not to overcrowd,  availability of drinking water which could be personal, and to save such ecosystem through wise management, unless there are no places as such, building [for refuge] with aircondioners, water or ice/ice water (even at homes) must be made available.  Trees that could screen/absorb heat would also be identified and cultivated. Sources of cool mountain streams and shaded wetlands must be recognized and saved for they may be good sources for cooling off. Body cooling procedures such as ice grasping (as what they said) to lower temperature as blood flows, etc. and in other areas as instructed by experts, will be practiced.

04/26/2023- To how far molecular and cellular techniques and their expansions cure cancer....and to what percentage? and their availability en masse? And if used as molecular diagnostics through profiling, then what will be the next step.. what other means of curing? are there other protocols ... will it be non- molecular... then reverting to molecular? Molecular detection is exciting in fact done for most (like Sars Cov 2) but curing for very dangerous diseases is what every one expects!

I am not sure what major activity was at UP Diliman at that time. UP Fair? Now I know- "Pedal UP: Philippine Bicycle Demo & Expo".  But all I can say to this adventurous young biker (driving even at the edges in that type of bike), hope he will grow up not just a UPD biker but a UPD student soon! Memoirs (Society of Wetland Scientists)- I have seen another copy of Wetland Science and Practice (WSP) for usually these are not available online until you register at BioOne so you can  read the copy. As formerly explained in my earlier post with a different supporting WSP issue, it shows my name as the Asia President for the  Society of Wetland Scientists Asia Chapter (various years) and the existence of the South American Chapter which I co- established (pls. view previous post regarding this).  Here is the link of a different WSP issue.  Regarding my being an Associate Editor* for Wetlands, I could not see  whole copies of Wetlands Journals (Scopus indexed) online  in particular issues that I was an Associate Editor {in the Wetlands Journal}. For those in the academe in almost all US universities, I am sure that the Wetlands (Journal) has complete issues** in your libraries and could be a milestone for me to be seen and remembered in such copies. 05/04/2023-  Sometimes, we thought that Covid 19 is no longer of great concern, that the incoming first year students of UP would have the ways of the pre pandemic times (or even we). In fact, I searched for this video in my previous page about the ten tips (for the freshies) given by the former Chancellor of UP Diliman in order to shed some light. But recently UP Cebu and UP Baguio have to cancel their f to f classes due to the increase in Covid 19 cases in their areas. Here is the  news link.  That's why I think each has to be cautious until now. Here is the video done by a UPD student vlogger and if you can't do it all because of the pandemic consciousness, it's worth  enjoying while viewing. Here is the  link.

What then are you as a UP student- well always remember you need to be the "fittest" so as to "fit" that passing grade. And of course, professors have their "own styles and ways" to educate you and you need to "adapt" so you can learn that much from him/her.  In a stream of people whether you're in a block or not, identify how will you be so you will have your own strategies of studying. When, I was an undergrad, I remembered a few of my classmates can review or study their notes effectively, amidst a quite  noisy environment.  Others can study on their own... whether in the library (as long as not sweaty and noisy), or under a tree (as long as what one is studying really is being absorbed properly well in the brain and you don't care if who sees you). I think that the libraries that Diliman need to have is to simulate a "hotel room atmosphere" where it is very much conducive for individual studying. Rather for the students to book in a hotel for a price. (I think I wrote about libraries in my previous post and how to cater to students who cannot afford such [e.g. hotels]). Then, I know what is in the minds of others di ba "survival for the fittest". But be a little bit kind and understanding. Just consider the changes in our "earthly" conditions that are difficult to control and it may affect  the "earthly population". What a way to reason out! But it's a subset of it, if it's too broad to think about. Therefore, be steadfast in the campus regardless  whether you think, you are in the sides of an introvert or extrovert. This "bandwagon" track among extroverts that one can see in FB or in group discussions etc., is sometimes not your style because  it is just not and may be a cliche or a what? but can you refrain or flow with them? What's the benefit? Here is a TED talk* about introverts, with an extrovert comparison.  Introverts don't necessarily read but are excellent thinkers. In fact, she also wrote a book about Power of Introverts. Here is the video link.

Graduate Schools and Takers what is the Philosophy title  in  degrees? Don't tell me  you are dumb enough not to know.  I listened to a well known speaker (in communication) about  philosophy addressing specifically the what of it from a famous philosophy institute. I will still be reviewing that carefully.  Considering that I need an indepth meaning of it and its role as mentioned, I want citations,  a very wholesomely one supported by heavy meanings thru these selected philosophers. .... (According to Kant..[just as an example). Here is the list  of philosophers, if not included you may additionally mention one.

I am surprised about this EduRank 2023  but I am very glad to see that UP Diliman ranks first. Pero nga- a nga daw tikalon gid ya ang iban wala gid na nila tan awa kun ano rank sang school (alma mater) nila. I think through this, one has to know his or her place and be respectful.

UP Diliman being the  premier university of the University of the Philippines will not be used  alone in transcripts of higher degrees taken in other campuses. That is over using UP Diliman for stupidity's sake.  The campus where that degree (as a degree extension of UPD) was taken will be superbly highlighted. The Diliman atmosphere is very much different from the rest in almost all circumstances.

New Thoughts

Molecular drugs, Molecular cure in vivo... I think this must be personalized, so there is a specific target. And could be utilized fully for "curing" in a particular chromosomal position/could be an allele that is defective.. I was thinking that these genes are introduced rather than corrected ([how would be the new terminology* that would sum up these-  splicing, unligating, introducing, ligating or probably restricting, introducing and ligating ...or for introducing, direct transformation- a bacterial word rather than transporting [for they may involve some bacterial parts here, modified most likely, to make an efficient insertion] or the major method must be prefixed, like CRIS (Hi Cris B.)) but in this aspect I would like the gene regulators to act accurately and the others nearby not to participate in the operational scheme: promoters, operators, repressors, and the others. And of course, the positioned gene would express that particular product essentially and not to produce other products/by products that may have the "side effects".  Also, let us talk about spreading.. so this is what almost everyone hates for GMO.  Considering that is now within the  chromosome- (or such thing as permanent resident plasmid??), will it be subjected to mitosis- [on the other side, exploring the stem cells for the gametes? would it be appropriate for the need?] or the ability to "jump" or assume a viral transfection mode? [taming process here or already part of the package or is the phenomenon of without concern?] Thus the gene insert must have a tag to find out where it is and how many copies are there now in case (insert loaded? to complexity). Outside of the individual, how would that cell with a gene be? Quite far from imagination?  How would the clinical health inspectors deal with these products, referring to clinical laboratories in hospitals? It is exciting for biotechnological discoveries just like the gene transfer involving Agrobacterium t. of one of  our voters for ISMCBBPR's Molecule of the Year but considering its future.  And  there are still more like the transgenic tilapia. I just visited our ISCSPM page and the President** is so active with expertise in Genomic Medicine. [The genomic med must serve as a "crib" for epigenetics. So to know, the actual targets].  And the Molecular Drug of the Year or A candidate for Molecular Drug of the Year? A fungus with an auris (I mentioned this in previous post) species needs a drug? what more else? Still so many such as cancer and so on.
