Automotive Aerodynamics

Automotive aerodynamics is the study of the aerodynamics of road vehicles. Its main goals are reducing drag and wind noise, minimizing noise emission, and preventing undesired lift forces and other causes of aerodynamic instability at high speeds. Air is also considered a fluid in this case. For some classes of racing vehicles, it may also be important to produce downforce to improve traction and thus cornering abilities.

Race Day

Standings

First race I had a time of 4.001

Second day time of 4.102

Thrid time 4.58

As seen in my times my car got progressively slower as the race days went on.

My car weighed 3x the amount of everyone elses car which is a cause for my car being much slower than everyone elses. I found out that while printing I should have made my car 5% or 0% infill but instead my infill was 20%. This created a lot unecessary weight.
