On average, our interviews last from around 45 minutes to 1 hour, but we've had a large variety of lengths, from interviews shorter than. 30 mins and interviews going for more than 2 hours.
Both of us are very interested in the foreign relations of Hong Kong, and we thought we'd visit a bunch of consulates for fun during Summer 2021, given the Covid travel restrictions. After being warmly received at the Iranian consulate, learning about the impact of such a small community in Hong Kong, we knew we wanted to share this with others. Given that many Hong Kong youth don't know much about the impact smaller nations and communities have in Hong Kong, we wanted to share this information so they have a better understanding about the international city they live in.
Originally, we began this project simply by walking into consulates and asking to speak, but we only had around a 15% success rate for being able to interview a staff member. With this realization, we decided to adapt our strategy, and since then we've been emailing and scheduling interviews with consulates which has been largely successful.
